Unrequited love(poem)

Love one-sided

By Precious MbabaziPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

Invisible scars, unhidden pain

Cared to ask, cared to explain

The weight of secrets, the weight of shame

Falling upon my name

But then comes a page

An empty space

A safe escape

A place to pour out the heart's deepest secrets

We were once close, so I thought

But now I'm a ghost

Forgotten and lost

Only the noise of my shattered heart

Inside crawls

Your silence is a heavy chain

That is blind to the same pain

Now wondering the love I offer

Does he give back to suffer

A one-way lane is all I get

I try to reach out, to bridge the gap

But you're so far away and I ache

Emotions unspoken

A soul awakened

I find a way to heal

I confess this love is real

Till the end

And hope someday it will be heard
