Unrequited Love

I look at you from far away,
A silent wish, a word unsaid.
Your laughter dances in the air,
But in my heart, there's weight instead.

I dream of moments we could share,
Of whispered truths, of stolen glances,
But every time I dare to hope,
You never see, you take no chances.

Your eyes meet mine, but don’t stay long,
You pass me by like I’m unseen.
My heart beats fast, but all for naught,
In your world, I’ve never been.

Still, I’ll love you quietly,
With tender thoughts, though never spoken.
For unrequited love, they say,
Is love that’s pure, though always broken.
