Unrequited Love

The Ache of One-Sided Desire

By Alexander ColePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

In the realm of hearts, where passions dance,

There dwells a tale of love's one-sided trance.

Unrequited yearnings, a silent plea,

A soul adrift in a sea of misery.

With every fleeting glance, a flicker ignites,

A longing so fierce, it sets the soul aflame.

Whispers of affection, unspoken and shy,

Like fragile blooms beneath a starlit sky.

In the echoes of dreams, a symphony plays,

Melodies of love's unfulfilled ways.

Yet, like a mirage in the desert's embrace,

Hope flickers and fades, leaving an empty space.

Through the nights, tears silently flow,

Drowning the heart in a river of woe.

Aching whispers carried by the wind,

Unheard confessions, never to be penned.

Like a moth drawn to a flame's allure,

The heart persists, though the pain is sure.

Bound by an invisible chain,

A prisoner of love's unyielding reign.

Yet, amidst the sorrow, a glimmer remains,

A spark of hope that stubbornly sustains.

For even in unrequited love's embrace,

There's a beauty in the pain, a bittersweet grace.

For love, in its purest form, knows no bounds,

Untethered to reciprocation's rounds.

It blooms in the heart, wild and free,

A testament to humanity's capacity.

So, though the path of unrequited love be steep,

A treasure lies hidden in its depths, buried deep.

For in the ache of longing, the soul finds its strength,

A resilience that endures, even in heartache's length.

And though the heart may break, it does not surrender,

For love, true love, knows no boundaries or surrender.

It lives on, eternal and profound,

In the tapestry of life, forever unbound.
