Unrequited

Together Alone

Top Story - January 2026

Somewhere out there lives a lady, I’m her King without a throne

And it’s been this way forever, seems I’m meant to be alone

Our relationship’s platonic, there’s no hope of some romance

I’m that “friend zone” disconnected, seems I’ll never have my chance

She’s practically a vapor, an enigma unforeseen

A case study in frustration, she’s like water, I’m a screen

I’m not sure they’re even “people,” more an essence out of reach

She’s that woman who’s a fortress that I’ll never ever breech

I assure you I’m not jilted, I’m no lover who’s been scorned

Just a ship without a rudder, a reporter, uninformed

sad poetry
