Unorthodox Release
The Weight She Can’t Escape

The pressure had taken everything from her—her strength, her resolve, her will to keep fighting. It pressed against her chest like a vice, squeezing the air from her lungs until even breathing felt like a battle she wasn’t sure she wanted to win. She didn’t want to endure anymore. She didn’t want to carry this weight.
Everyone said things would get better, that it was just a phase, but they didn’t know. How could they? Their words were hollow, empty reassurances that only made her feel more alone. She couldn’t tell them how the pressure felt like a storm inside her, relentless and unforgiving, tearing her apart piece by piece.
She didn’t want to fight anymore. The thought of another day, another hour, felt unbearable. Every attempt to move forward felt like a cruel joke, the world laughing at her futile efforts. Why should she keep going? Why should she endure when the weight never lifted, when the battle only grew harder?
The idea of letting go was no longer frightening. It was a release, a quiet escape from the suffocating reality she lived in. She imagined what it would feel like to finally be free, to let the pressure crush her completely, to surrender to the darkness that had been creeping closer every day.
She didn’t feel brave or strong; she didn’t feel anything at all. Just tired. Tired of fighting, of pretending, of holding on when there was nothing left to hold. And so, she stood at the edge of herself, staring into the void, unsure if she had the strength to step back—or if she even wanted to.
All she wanted was peace. And if she couldn’t find it in life, maybe she could find it in the quiet stillness of an end.
