A poem
I believe in the universe,
I believe in fate.
Some call it a higher power,
Others call it God.
I believe in second chances and missed opportunities.
When the universe decides something,
everything in your life shifts in its favor.
What you give is what you get.
If you send out pain and misery, that's all life returns.
But when you send out joy, love, and hope,
the universe gives all that back in due time.

Introduction This image made me think of Irish and Welsh mythology, so I have decided on an ekphrastic casbairdne for the form, which, although quite short, is a very difficult form, and this is my first attempt. I did find this very hard, but hopefully I made it work.

A Dart at Dusk
Seconds ago, the sullen sun set on the two of us… my exuberant furry companion and me. A fresh breeze embraces us, delivering welcome relief from the day’s oppressive heat. His typical stumbling and staggering along — apace with a sloth — has turned into trip-trapping, high-stepping, almost skipping along.
