Unable to Grieve

I pull words through my teeth like floss,

Tight and quick, to convey my loss

Of community, of self

Of weather, worn kelp.

Oh reach, I stretch, and do not grasp

The lock, the key, the broken clasp.

I vomit, I heave

My throat, they leave.

This pain is filling at my lung

This headache in my head is hung

And oh, to wake

In feast, partake.

But the bread is molded and dry

The water salty tears to cry.

This desert, no end

My heart, must bend.

My lips to part as if to speak,

But I burry the sounds for anther week.
