UnWanted People

Stereotypes of Personalities to Avoid according to the Shrinks who will make you Healthy and Respectful

By Shanon Angermeyer NormanPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

According to a psychological article I read this morning on my cellphone, there are four to seven types of personalities that healthy, self-respecting people should avoid. The four I read about include: The Chronic Critic, The Narcisisstic Manipulator, The Emotional Vampire, and The Perpetual Victim. I'm the last one.

My mother was the Chronic Critic. Nothing was ever good enough.

My husband was the Narcissistic Manipulator. He would piss me off just for his own entertainment or to win a bet or prove how good he was at manipulation.

Some of my friends have been Emotional Vampires. They come at me with their problems, and then get pissed when I solve them. They didn't want solutions, they just wanted a wall without logic to talk at. They wanted compassion that wasn't deserved.

I am the Perpetual Victim according to the article's definition. I never blame myself for anything that goes wrong. It's always someone else's fault.

That's absolutely how I see it too. It's not that I don't own my mistakes and it's not that I think I'm perfect. But I've been surrounded by the Chronic Critic, the Narcisisstic Manipulator, Emotional Vampires, and other monsters for so long that all I've ever been able to be is The Perpetual Victim.
