Sad, But True

By Earl W. PearlPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

I hope our next leader can keep us afloat

I love to complain although I never vote

We say that we’re leaving if so-and-so wins

Yes, lying is clearly just PART of our sins

We keep picking leaders who NEVER would serve

Who get us in wars that our troops don’t deserve

We’re driving big trucks without nothing to haul

Ain’t willing to work but we still want it all

We love giant vehicles, give us that mass

And still we insist they do better on gas

I’m easily offended when you disagree

The truth is offensive to people like me

I reject what I am and I am what I say

So now I insist you address me as “They”

Despite there’s no hell, how conveniently odd

I believe in a heaven, just not in a God
