Once colorblind now I see the colors that define. Well for starters my name means violet. Kinda like ultraviolet most of me is unseen by the naked eye. It takes special sight to see my spectrum. A certain frequency to ride my wave.
Or like the color violet by definition combines the calm stability of blue and fierce energy of red. Often associated with royalty and luxury, wisdom and peace. I don’t know about you but I think I was named a queen from birth if you ask me.
And my soft brown skin gives me that extra hint of black girl magic. That turns my Afro puffs to waist length braids over night. And my suffering to power just by sight because I walk in it so effortlessly so brave.
To my green aura like Mother Nature. It’s in my nature to nurture even when the love seems tough. It’s usually just the right stuff. And eyes dark but beautiful. Just shows you mustn’t mind playing in the dark to understand the light of my soul. Ultraviolet almost.
And my bubbly pink personality. And my dark wardrobe. I’m just about every color of the rainbow. Need I mention the fact the oranges and yellows look the best on me and my smile is bright like the moon light. It shines brighter in my darkest times. And shines even when it’s time to clap for others shine. After all I’m a rainbow that can only be seen in the night sky how divine right.
To no longer be colorblind. To no longer be afraid to play in the dark. Because the way I’ve learn to paint my true colors in the night sky only to be seen by those who are just as divine. Who look deeper than the naked eye. Who sit on a certain frequency to ride this wave with me. And see the parts of my light that are ultraviolet to most.
