Two Tomahawks...

Ekphrastic Poem

By K.A. SmithPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

Party over here!
Party over there!
Where are the drinks?
Stopped, all gone.
Too slow,
But two tomahawks still
On the grill almost done?
Not too long...
Some likes rare,
But some likes medium.
Some likes showing bone
Resembling... the axe.
Some,
The steak presents better.
Feels cooking innocent
Two tomahawks...

This was such a fun and intriguing read! I love the playful rhythm and the way the tomahawks take center stage. The contrast between the party vibe and the focus on the steaks really stood out. Great piece! 🔥
