The starfish on the shore

Lay impressed within the sand

Single grains compiled together

To provide his relief

He lay in wait

For something he doesn’t know

As the sun bared down

In perfect rhythm

The gentle waves nourished him

As he felt the sand, the sun and the sea

He felt the presence of another

Two Starfish lay on a shore

Impressed within the sand

Embracing the sun

Nourished by the waves

Through the setting of the sun

Through the rising of the stars

Through the shining of the moon

Lay two Starfish on a shore

With the breaking of dawn

In the glimmering newborn sun

He could sense only solidarity

Amongst the sand

He lay with emptiness

Waiting again for something

He doesn’t know

Laying on the shore
