Two Sides of One Story

a poem

One who asks questions, one who takes action,

both engaged in the realm of powerful women.

Psychotherapy and fashion intertwined.

Psychotherapy and crime shunned.

What other conclusions can you draw?

As your eyes opened,

your mouth kept asking and asking without pause.

It's no wonder that you seek answers,

as your life seems to drift in uncertainty.

One day here, the next day there,

never finding a stable ground.

Your thoughts and ideas are constantly in motion,

with no solid place to anchor them.

You did me in with just one word.

How could you think I could swallow that?

You can’t assume that everyone is the same.

If this were the case, the world would never progress and wallow in shame.

Everyone will follow the same route

to destruction of the entire human race,

with your fuel, TV, kids fed on games.

They’re discovering their identity

while forgetting the roots of their story.

Their mothers constantly argue about which one of them is the best,

as if their comparisons hold any significance in society.

This behaviour is far from healthy!

It's like poisonous ivy swirling around our feet,

infecting our minds.

It seems like whoever shouts the loudest has more to say,

but in reality,

it means nothing.

There are professors who have secluded themselves at home for decades,

for fifty years without a doctor, all the while blaming themselves

for how this place operates.

If that's the case, I want to escape from here,

where nothing matters to me, but matters to others.

I'm contemplating a vacation,

perhaps to a destination

that remains unexplored by anyone.

At least I won’t find another reason to kill myself there.

Congratulations on top story. Hopefully, you find peace within the chaos. Many do long for that same thing. That's what makes this poem very relatable.
