Two Pieces;

A poem.

By Lauren BradyPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Sometimes when I look at you, and you’re looking back at me, I can see something. This microscopic hint of something more, something you’re feeling but can’t say. When our eyes meet, its as though we are instantly connected. I know nobody catches it but me and you, but I like it that way. Our own little world that nobody can touch, where we can go to when everything around us is crazy- we find ourselves starring into each others eyes....because, it’s when we’re looking at each other in silence that we end up saying the most.

When I saw your face for the first time- it felt as though years between us fell away and I slipped towards you through time and space...immersed into this world and consumed by the sound of your voice,like crickets on a summer night or stars that shine in the moonlight. How is it that you capture me with a gaze? That you work this magic over every part of me? Whispering secrets in my ear and sharing yourself with me..feels like you’re trailing kisses down my neck.

Since the first time I saw you it took every ounce of me not to kiss you. The first time I saw you laugh, it took every ounce of me not to fall in love...And when I finally saw a glimpse into your soul—- it took every ounce of me.

It felt like coming home. When I saw your face, for the first time.
