Two Little Doves
Two little doves sat on a wall
watching the world, saying nothing at all
they did not ask, they did not need
they lived on air, on time, on seed
They kept together, day and night
soft as shadows, small and white
they flew through rain, they braved the cold
their story quiet, their bond was bold
One morning came, the sky was grey
one rose up, the other stayed
the garden hushed, the ivy stirred
but silence kept, no answering word
The dove that stayed would not let go
it waited there through sun, through snow
its song was low, it never moved
for love had once been surely proved
And still they say, when twilight comes
two shadows fall where the ivy runs
two little doves, their vow unspoken
a promise made, and never broken.

Doves the true love relationships through thick and thin and too bad humans cannot do the same. Beautiful and good job.
Lovely, Marie. One more for the 'best box' (I forget what I used to call it now). I always feel sad when I hear about animals that mate for life and lose their partner. Do they think the same as we do?
Lovely words and image
