Two Hearts, One Path

A Journey Through Love and Resilience

The world says I should be weary,

that the weight of this life

should bend my back and break my spirit.

But they don’t know us,

don’t know the strength in the bond we’ve built,

or how your laughter fills the cracks in my resolve.

You’re ten now,

no longer my shadow,

but the spark that lights my way.

You challenge me,

with your questions that dig deep,

your dreams that stretch wide,

your stubbornness that mirrors my own.

We share quiet mornings,

as the sun streams through the windows,

a fleeting calm before the chaos of the day.

We share battles,

over undone chores and unfinished homework,

words sharp,

then softened by hugs that heal.

Some days, I feel stretched too thin,

pulled by the demands of this world,

but then you remind me—

with your smile,

your unshakable belief in what we are—

that I am enough.

Together, we’ve learned to rise.

To find beauty in the struggle,

and joy in the small,

simple moments:

a walk in the park,

your hand slipping into mine,

the way we can laugh

until the world fades to the background.

I don’t know where the road leads,

but I know this:

we’ll walk it together,

two hearts,

beating in rhythm,

forging a path only we can follow.
