Irrefutable

I am often wrong about things. That’s what compels me to keep learning. I do believe, however, there are some undeniable lessons we should all have learned by now. I wonder if you agree.

1. There will always be those who seize power, those who seek power, and those who use power to render others powerless. The power of the former is forever diminished by the suffering of the latter.

2. A white canvas is powerless until it is complimented with colour. Every nuance of white, grey, black and in between works in unison to perform a work of art.

3. Colour and shadow are the fabrics that work in harmony to weave a great mosaic of beauty, whether spoken, written, shaped, drawn, photographed or filmed.

4. It would seem logical then that the artist is the creator of real power through loving care for their craft.

5. Crafting of work that enriches all who view it brings equal power to the creator and the beholder.

I may be wrong, but knowing that we don't know far exceeds the need to be right?

One Writer's Mantra

What is this grist mill

Where we manufacture words

Strung together, aimed?

A biting satire

Or perhaps lyrical theme

Ever sparks the soul

Answers sought in ink

Self propel, ignite the sense

A truth found intact

A legacy born

From behind the writer’s eyes

Illuminates us.
