I feel flat with nothing to give today

True Poem Of How I Feel

by George’s Girl, 2025

Today I tried all day to write a poem

Nothing fitted, nothing seemed good

Was nowt to write and show

I tried all day, I lost my mojo.

Anger welled up inside

I questioned why I write

Just a simple day

I wanted to give up without any fight

Lots of people used to like my poetry

Now lots of old friends don’t comment or like

Then there is a poetry thief

Just taking what he likes

I wonder, have I had my day?

Is it time to down my pen?

It’s hard to write when thoughts are clouded

And no thoughts makes way to my pen

I feel sad when thieves steal our poetry

It just isn’t right, it takes something from me

They grab our words like they’re free to own

each line’s ours, carved by us, and us alone

I’ve had a crap day, dragged through the dirt

Nothing went right, just layers of hurt

No light, no lift, just heavy and flat

And night came round just as bleak as that

I write for truth, not praise or pay

But sometimes I want to throw it all away

When silence greets what I write down,

And someone else wears my words like a crown

Sorry, am If I bore you?

It’s all silly, yes, I know

Hope tomorrow is different

And I find which way I am to go

Tomorrow is a new day, Marie. You can't expect to produce the number of poems you do all the time (and you have told me shy you do) and some days when things go to crap, you will lose your mojo. You write great poems, and you are very talented. So if you have a bad day, you have a bad day. You know why you keep going. So, ask yourself - how would I feel if I stopped? A stiff drink, focus on something else, and tomorrow you will be back in the saddle. 💗💗
