With just one dart

Dart thrown to break my drought

Drought bringing a splinter

Splinter of fate

Fate is the Key

Key to my heart!

~

We often don't plan to fall in love. Maybe some do. I didn't. I had been married twice and thought that may have been enough. I was married a total of 25 years when I was thinking that.

My co-worker said, "I was with one woman for 10 years when we married and our marriage only lasted one year." Then he added, "I am not good at marriage. I can have women friends and that is what I am choosing to do from now on."

He went on to talk about having that plus one for events, someone to golf with, go to a movie with, or out to dinner. I have a list of women to call he told me. I told him to put me on that list with the caveat of no physical intimacy.

It all made sense to me and sounded good. The problem was I was struck by the love bug, hit by the dart in my dry spell and fate brought us together to live happily ever after. I guess I am good at marriage. It will be 20 years married in December and 24 years together.

Hi Denise - I've been down for a few months - forgot to get my vaccination for 'Old Age' but I've always enjoyed your 'ecletic' unique stories; especially this one re; "Love Stories" - I hate to self-promote - but please see my story in Jan: "To Be Loved" - You will so relate. A Favor: I know that you are a super follower of our Rachel; I see your thoughtful comments all the time. Please leave a comment on her 'Ode to Rachel Deeming' Post. The year-long writings are so impressive. I know she would appreciate the gesture from you. Thank you, - Jk.in.l.a.
