true enlightenment

What is true enlightenment?

By LunaPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

The deepest awakening in life often occurs at the most ordinary moments. One morning when you wake up, you suddenly find that the self in the mirror is no longer young.

Sitting alone in a certain vocal music, you suddenly understand.

Those persistent pursuits turned out to be meaningless.

One ordinary afternoon, you watch the tea leaves slowly unfurling in the teacup.

For the first time, I truly understood the meaning of "living in the present".

A profound enlightenment is never an earth-shattering sudden realization, but rather an awakening that accumulates layer by layer like the rings of an old tree. It may start with a loss that is deeply engraved in one's heart.

It might stem from a sudden illness. It might also come from some casual moment.

Just like a mountaineer who, after going through numerous hardships, finally reaches the summit, discovers the most beautiful scenery

Not at the summit but in the process of climbing itself

This kind of awakening is often accompanied by great relief

You finally understand that all the love, hate, and entanglements that once made you toss and turn are just a ripple in the long river of life

Those gains and losses, successes and failures that keep you brooding

It will eventually vanish with time

Just like the sky after a heavy rain, when the dark clouds disperse, the sun remains as bright as ever.

True enlightenment is the wisdom of seeing through but not revealing.

It is the calmness after experiencing vicissitudes and the ease after learning to let go.

It makes you understand that the most important thing in life is not what you possess

It's about what has been physically examined rather than where one has arrived

But how to get through this journey

When you view all things in the world with a calm heart, you have already touched the true meaning of awakening.
