Troubled Hues

Written by: Kanika Collins Sharp

Ascended from the narratives of HUE,

Reveals stories from DARK spaces,

The LIGHT it gives, gives sight to stifled places,

Emerging from the voices of BROWN faces,

Never had love for BLUE chases,

Releasing tears from PINK embraces,

Because all we see is RED,

From SILVER bullets,

De-escalation is TRANSPARENT instead,

Peering WHITE as right,

And leaving BLACK for dead.

'Cause its the obsession with GREEN,

That gives us visions of YELLOW dreams,

And after GRAY skies release its pain,

Comes clouds of PURPLE haze,

Followed by spottings of ORANGE sun rays,

That ultimately reveals RAINBOWS for the promise of jubilant days.
