"Trick or treat"

The young gremlins chimed just a tad offbeat.

I couldn't wait to greet them all upon doorstep this year.

"Well hello my dears"

I offered them each a candied treat and they were quickly deposited into beautiful Halloween bags.

I truly love this time of year even if I might just happen to be an old hag.

Any other time of the year little children are told not to take candy from strangers.

Would little old me put them in danger?

There are a million monsters running through my head.

I cannot remember what they all said.

I have been waiting to pounce, strike, attack.

If their mothers only knew what was inside their snack.

I wrote this as a part of my "Writing Prompts for October Challenge" which you can view down below.

I have read a few people's posts in regards to this writing prompt challenge and I'd love to see some more!

Please feel free to comment on the original post or this one to make sure I see it as I will be picking my favourites from the month of October. I was hoping to find one for every prompt. Do one or do them all! Thanks for reading everyone.
