Tree Branches
A free verse poem about being extraverted
An extravert
is like an enormous tree
with masses of branches, leaves, and ornaments.
New and old friends
are the ornaments and leaves
that hang down below.
They never quit growing,
even on rough days,
and bustling weeks.
They're always finding
new ways
to decorate their trees.
An extravert
is like a well-fed tree
that never weakens.
They’re always
energized enough
to be a part
of their communities.
They never wear out,
even on days
where they’re spiralling
unstoppably in the frosty wind.
They ensure
that their tree branches, leaves, and ornaments
never tumble.
An extravert
has thousands of branches,
leaves, and ornaments
on one body.
That’s magnificent!

A Failed Artist, A Disillusioned Poet, An Underpaid Game Show Host
I took my son and niece to Gori, a small town in Georgia where Joseph Stalin was born. They talked me into visiting the Stalin's Museum, the largest in the post-Soviet space. I had resisted going there because I just can't stand the monster and know enough about him, or so I thought.

I like the comparison of an extrovert to a tree blooming in life. I am a huge fan of trees. They breathe the life for all of us. Well done ❤️
