Tread Lightly

Poem inspired by: on the nature of daylight-Max Richter

By Michele NampalliPublished about a year ago 1 min read

11 o clock sun

my face tilting, eager to feel

the light

across the wisp of skin that form my eyelids…

An orange glow

fills my mind-

you feel closest here,

and from here

the warmth slowly spreads

like the emergence of a sunrise

throughout my physical form…

I want to stay here,

forever…

Infinite space for my soul to breathe

Like first butterfly wings

uncurling,

my eyes flutter open,

disoriented…

I focus on the sound of the breeze

rustling the leaves…

Looking down,

the playful dance of shadows unfold,

imprinting on my bare thighs…

a delightful rumble

moving upward

from my core,

tickling my throat

as it crescendos

into the air…

as if to acknowledge

the beauty

of existence with nature as the sole witness…

About the Creator

Michele Nampalli

This space is breath for my sensitivity. The poems come fully formed. I've known for quite some time now that my art is about receiving more than creation...its the most natural way I know to process my inner world. It started when I was 7.
