Transient love

Sundown, and I'm at the edge of the cliff I reminisce my almost one true love Was it all in my head or it was real?

What happened in that scorching summer day

Is still imprinted in my memory,

It was simpler for you to stay at bay

But this whole time, I lost all sanity.

The movement of your eyes upon my lips,

The strange new feeling warming up my blood

Closed the distance, you barely touched my hips,

Drowning all of me in a lovestruck flood.

That moment passed in a blink of an eye

And you stepped back with your eyes almost lost

Yet, it was clear, that the summer warmth, dry,

In just our presence, would simply defrost.

And of that ancient graying summer day

Iโ€™m left with only emptiness today.
