-Carl Gustav Carus: Faust in the Mountains- Personally, Goethe's telling of his story is my fave, though I strongly suspect Marlowe would have had a similar take if he'd lived in Goethe's time...
Enduring hardship
It takes strength to go on where
We feel the most weak

I don’t know how it happened, Rommi! But somehow I unsubscribed and haven’t been seeing your work in my feed!! I saw your Top Story and thought how did I miss that! Well clearly I’ve missed a lot! And I will be catching up this weekend! This haiku/senryu is fantastic! I feel terrible for being so late to the party but at least for me I know I have some good reads ahead of me as I kick off my summer break!!
It seems that most lessons require strength that is not easily found. But when we do find it, we can move forward and past the hardships. Or at least learn from them. Nicely done!
This is kind of sad. Nicely Done!!!
That is absolutely true! Loved this song much!
Perfectly written <3
Returning the well-wrought! This is as succinct as it is salient, sir! So much truth in so few words! Love the painting too!
Absolutely, one learn patience through various hardships.
Very true! Sometimes that’s all we have! Love your poem, Rommi.
