Train To Nowhere

Dream or reality you decide your destination

Train to Nowhere

A whistle cries in the midnight fog,

as iron wheels groan to life,

and the train to nowhere, bound in shadow,

rolls forward from the edge of night.

Tracks unfurl like secrets kept,

leading nowhere, no return,

past fields where only silence sleeps,

and bridges left to burn.

Inside, no faces known or seen,

just echoes of things unclaimed,

dreamers caught in slumber’s grasp,

or lost to the tracks unnamed.

Through ghost-lit towns and winding woods,

it steams on past the darkened spires,

where streetlights flicker, wane, and fade,

and strangers ride beside their desires.

They board with pockets full of doubts,

and leave their burdens on empty seats,

as landscapes vanish, blurred and gone,

and life itself retreats.

So ride this train to nowhere’s edge,

with windows fogged in gray despair,

until dawn calls with light unknown,

and only dreams await you there.

You are lucky if you awaken,

then you know it was just a dream.

Let’s hope you do wake up,

Cause no one to there will hear you scream.

A train of dreams that every once in a while happens to everyone. Good work.
