He tells me he hates traditions,

how they excuse harm and bad behavior because

it's always been this way,

but I remind him traditions can be good,

tell him I want to start some good traditions of our own:

Christmas trees and birthday cakes and frosting,

any excuse to celebrate this life we have together.
