Tomorrow's Hope

#Vote

By Katrina ThornleyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The moon’s rays

Danced upon an earth

Craving a change-

They flooded veins

And reroute trains

Of thought-

Changing direction

And giving the promise

Of a tomorrow

That may be endurable

In a world with beauty-

The idea of hope

Was a solid foundation,

The idea of persistence

A key to the next door,

The building blocks for a society

Intent on passing fingers

Through the slivers

Of light beams sent down

By Mother Nature

On her chosen days,

A society intent on bathing

In the salty ripples

Of an ocean upturned

By the rotating axis,

The pulling light

Of our leader-

The moon pulling ahead

As we kneel in awe

At the possibility

Of a coming future-

Where all voices are heard,

And direction is a choice

Not an order-

A step towards the lifting

Of a veil we didn’t know

We were wearing.

So dance beneath the moon

Enact the energy

Given by lunar goddess

In a world overrun

By the negative

And give thanks

For the opportunity

To participate in a world

Where there are full moons

And shooting stars,

Where there is good and evil

And a balance we find

In a community we create.
