“The butterfly
does not look back
at the caterpillar in shame,
just as you should not
look back at your past in shame.
Your past
was part of
your own transformation.”
The beautiful butterfly
had to go through metamorphosis
a caterpillar to become “itself”.
The same is true of us.
We need to go through ’challenges’
in order to become
who we ‘should’ be.
Beautiful.
Special.
Unique.
Just like the butterfly
doesn’t look back in shame or sadness,
neither should we!
We need to
learn from the past
and use ‘it’ as
a stepping-stone forwards,
into a happier tomorrow.
Every part of our journey
is and has been made for us to become
the ‘version’ we are now.
Are you “who” you want to be?
Trust and let it happen.
Tomorrow soon becomes today.

I am frequently ashamed of my past, though I know I shouldn't be so this really spoke to me.
As a trauma-survivor, it's sometimes difficult to remember that I wouldn't be who I am or where I am today without going through what I did and I'm in a rather happy place. Thank you for this beautifully written reminder.
