To the uncle, I never met
~

To the uncle, I never met,
I wonder what your personality was like,
apparently your heart was set
on having nice attire.
To the uncle, I never met;
you ran through the fire flames.
I imagine your forehead carried quite a few beads of sweat,
it was to save your life’s collection and belongings.
To the uncle, I never met;
your siblings never expected you to fly to Heaven’s doorstep first.
Your praise belonged in the choir, higher up, yet.
God reaps the ones he has some other plans for sometimes.
To the uncle, I never met,
I hope you’re having a lot of good conversations and fun up there.
You must be having such a wonderful time, I bet.
and please say hello to my two sets grandparents, would you?

I had an uncle who was chief of police...and we never spoke. You made me think of him with this one... Thank you. ✌🏾
Beautiful reflections.
Well expressed tribute for your uncle 🙏
Beautifully said
No !! He ran inside a fire to save things? How sad, but I love your tribute to him. He is watching out for you❤️
This is a touching tribute. Made me wonder about the circumstances that led to this uncle running through fire. I've had to rush into tough situations myself to save important stuff. How do you think his family coped with losing him so unexpectedly?
I love that your family has preserved so much history for those who follow. One day you'll get to meet him. 😊☀️
