Wooden Pegs

-/-

By Rowan Finley Published 8 months ago 1 min read

Fragile life rests on just a few painted wooden pegs.

I want every person to have someone to love and to hold,

to experience a love that doesn’t break like the egg if it slipped and fell.

Wouldn’t that be just the best form of discovered glinting gold?

Every sector of life wouldn’t feel like such a squeeze of lonely exhaustion,

but instead,

it would be a warm squeeze of affection,

that would dissolve some of the pain and grief of life.

It's a beautiful concept that starts with loving ourselves enough to embrace what we know is real, that transcends what the physical world has to offer. As a side note, an upright egg is very hard to break with pressure. This is a heartfelt and relatable poem. Thank you for sharing it 😊☀️🌻

Such a delicate balance of life and love in just few lines! That “warm squeeze of affection” line? Genuinely feels warm.
