To the One Who Taught my heart to love again

I was a bird with shattered wings, Fearful of flight, hesitant to sing.

The vibrant skies that once embraced me turned to gray,

Until your gentle presence illuminated my way.

You were a companion during my times of despair,

Restoring my spirit, regardless of the care.

With extraordinary patience, you remained close,

Transforming my grief into joy, as you chose.

You sought nothing in return, yet offered so much,

Providing a soothing warmth in every touch.

Your compassion revived what had once been lost,

Reinforcing a delicate heart, no matter the cost.

I dreaded the notion of love’s warm embrace,

Yet you remained steadfast, granting me space.

With each smile and every spoken word,

A harmonious tune within me stirred.

Through serene strolls and evenings filled with laughter,

You revealed that love can flourish thereafter.

No longer bound by the weight of regret,

I discovered a love I shall never forget.

Thus, I stand here, my heart rejuvenated,

Eternally thankful, forever elated.

For in your gaze, I uncover my truth,

A renewed opportunity, a timeless youth.

With each heartbeat, my heart shall sing,

Of you, my beloved, my everything.

From once being a stranger to now a dear friend,

You are the one who taught my heart to love again.
