To the One Who Runs

I’ll run a Marathon for You

To the one who likes to run.

I’d chase marathons beneath the sun

A step ahead or maybe a step behind,

Wherever you need me, I’ll always align.

You run because you feel unworthy,

But every fragment, cracked and earthy,

I’d gather gently, piece by piece,

Even when you push, then seek release.

I’m here to stay, through war or peace,

Through chaos loud or quiet seas.

I love you, 13.

This love is true,

And even when you push, I see through you.

You don’t want to, but you can’t resist,

Sabotage grips, and freedom slips.

Your mind, a cell, its key tossed far,

A prison of pain beneath your scars.

Yet I’ll stand, unshaken, endlessly,

Your self-made hell won’t make me flee.

Try as you might to make me hate,

But love like mine won’t dissipate.

I see the bombs within your mind,

The endless noise you hope to find

A moment’s peace, a fleeting rest,

Even in dreams, demons infest.

But every push, I pull you near,

Every run, I chase, I am always here.

Each slammed door, I hold the key,

You are my heart, You are my destiny.

Not here to pressure or demand,

But to love you as you are, and stand.

Even broken, you deserve this grace,

You are my best friend, You are my safe place.

I’m not them—I do not retreat,

I won’t bow down or ever admit defeat.

When I love, like I love you now,

I’ll stay, no matter the storm’s howl.

I cannot save you—that is your fight,

But I’ll hold you through every darkened night.

However the day may break or bend,

I’ll love you endlessly,

My Forever Friend.
