To the Night Crawlers

Excerpt from a series of poems

By Alessandra FelicePublished 3 years ago 1 min read

To the night crawlers

they appear at the early hours of the morn

singing their song of freedom

intoxicated by the sweet liquor of the stars

they shout at the world

expressing their appreciation of life

they scream at the ones with sorrow on their backs

the ones who pull the boulders behind them

to the ones that long for happiness

To the night crawlers

you have a love of the world that nobody understands

your freedom we envy

your dance we practice, try, and fail

we follow your movement but fall to our knees

and pray for morning

pray for the sun to wake us up into reality
