To the Little Girl Who Grew Up Too Fast

Please Stop Growing Up

By Jess DellaPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

You were so young when you said "I can't wait to grow up." You saw all of the positive in this world and wore a toothy smile even in the saddest of moments. Everyone made growing up seem so fun, so how could you not be excited about it? Even on dull days you found the light and your smile radiated pure happiness.

You had so many hobbies and felt like you could to anything. From singing, to acrobatics, drawing, writing, and then to cosmetology. You wanted to be a jack of all trades. You focused so hard on growing up that you forgot to enjoy the freedom you had while you were young. You ended up losing yourself in the mental chaos that echoed throughout your head.

You are growing up now. That bright smile of yours is now starting to dim. The harsh reality of life is starting to hit you. How many standards do you think you can meet? No matter how hard you try it will never be enough. Is that why you let yourself go?

Those hobbies that you loved so much do not make you happy anymore. You have completely lost yourself in the darkness of this world. Now you sit here wishing you could rewind time so that you can tell that little girl "Please stop growing up."
