To the girl I never gave birth

with love.

I didn’t bear you,

I didn’t birth you,

But your presence makes my heart melt, your touch stirs something I’ve never felt.

The milky smell,

That glowy smile,

That slimy hand,

Those twinkly eyes,

The way you coo, all the time we peek-a-boo

I was elated with joy of being your aunt, until I found that a trace of your pain could haunt.

My Lil heart would probably never understand that any given day you are not mine to claim

but I will leave that discussion for another time.

I can swear that I will cherish every moment with you like my golden ticket to The Polar Express

Although, I can't promise that I can go against your mom when she disciplines you, but I sure as hell will sit with you throughout your rant.

So my dear little baby all I wanna say is,

While the whole world sees your tiny hand wrap around my finger, only I know it’s the other way around.

It’s me whom you’ve wrapped around your finger.

p.s. : I can' promise you the world but I can promise you that you are my world
