To the friend who's learning how to love herself
Roses are red
Violets are blue
You say you don't know what love is
I would argue and say love is in every conversation we've had
You say you don't always like how you look
I would argue and say beauty is a part of who you are
You say you're full of flaws
I would argue and say I wish your “flaws” were what most people had
To the friend who’s learning how to love herself
Know that I didn't need to learn how to love you—
I just had to get to know you
