To Starfall

"This is an end?" she whispered with awe,

gazing out from the lighthouse blazing in the night

crowds of passersby pausing to stare up at the sky

full with a cacophony of streaking lights; fallen suns from the outer worlds

- and yes, even those stars without life -

once seed beds for HER benevolence, now objects to be cast down in fury;

a particle without it's partner, falling forever into the black.

( An annihilation never to be completed. )

How mesmerizing was their faith to be placed into something

so precious, hanging on the threads of mutual destruction?

She questions it only now as her robes of white reflect the night -

robes for show, robes for adoration - all that was and ever will be

swallowed up by the cresting of those falling suns,

( a dance, a gentle heartbreak? )

and there with her arms outstretched to the stars - in amazement?

her fingers caressing the tears of HER grief;

"This will be our end."

What could I say to chastise the apostle

when I myself felt gravity like a chain

pulling me into those brilliant lights of our apocalypse?

( That display of fury born out of love? )

I must reach out, regardless,

to hold her through to the end.

"Then let us be dazzled, you and I,

and witness the end with a smile upon our faces;

a show befitting the final day of this world,

for that is the greatest gift SHE could ever give."
