Something To Say

They say don’t get too political

But still listen to their drivel though

They don’t have a problem they say with the queers and the gays

But the words that they speak are different than they say

“You’re one of the good ones; you’re dating a man”

When straight passing enough they easily can

Erase that part of you and all that you are

Those just like you, they'll feather and tar

You’re told to keep quiet, to not pick a fight

While they continue to post as if it's alright

That they say you’re a danger, a perversion, a phase

A predator in the night in the most wicked way

Cause that rainbow on your arm is truly a terror

That you might lead their kids to that same error

Cause the worse thing they can think of is their kid to be gay

Even though they say it's not a problem that you are that way

So, you sit and be quiet, keep biting your teeth

As you push down that hurt that's buried beneath

Cause you won’t say anything, you know you’ll be defeated

That hate in their heart they’ve already conceded
