to plant a flower:
bury a seed into the warm depths of the soil.
wet the soil with tap water from your kitchen sink.
wait patiently until it nurtures,
nature will do its thing.
first, its roots will grow,
then the shoot emerges from the ground after a long day of work.
from the on, it becomes self sufficient,
with its leaves working 24/7.
but from then on, we tend to neglect the small plant.
the excitement of the first few days have worn off,
and we don't see the need to care for it now
that it is self sufficient.
maybe once in a while
we will remember to water it.
but that is the extent.
the plant continues to grow, but
without the care of its owner.
the journey turns painful, torturous,
and the plant fights to suvive
with the little water it is provided
and in a place where little sunlight shines.
so why doesn’t it die?
perhaps it is the rule of nature
and it simply doesn’t want to die.
but perhaps the plants is thinking,
mother will notice me once i grow flowers!
the plant persists,
the harsh conditions threatening to break it
every single day.
but with every single day that passes,
every single day it survives,
it grows stronger and better.
but still, it cant bloom flowers.
no matter how hard the plant tries,
he simply can’t force the flowers to bloom.
so he gives up, thinking
it isn’t a flowering plant,
and that it will never gain its owners attention.
but indeed it was,
a flowering plant,
but under its owners neglect, its
potential was hindered
despite the plant’s efforts.
only when the plant began to wither and die,
did its owner take notice.
and the plant thought,
alas i have mother’s attention.

I can really feel the sadness of the plant here, I felt so bad for it. I have to admit I've done this to my plants many times.
