You are the kind of person that makes me want to write poems.

It's not that you're beautiful, or that you're smart, or that you're funny—though you are all those things. It's not even that you inspire me to be better myself, though you do that too. It's just that there's something about your presence in my life that has made me realize how much I have to say and how hard I can work to make sure people hear it.

I don't know if it's because we're both writers, or if it's because we both love our dogs so much, or if it's just because we have similar senses of humor (which is definitely true). But whatever it is, you've helped me find my voice and use it more confidently than ever before. And for that I'll always be grateful.
