I long for a love that would last a lifetime

Where there is respect between the two persons

I long for a love where time cannot stand still enough

Where I can lie awake beside them

And talk into the early hours

A love where I can speak of the future

And make it possible with them

I love for a love where through sickness

And in health, we survive the rage of life.

I long for a love where I can be

Both strong and vulnerable

Embraced with hugs and sweet words

That are endearing and not insulting

A love where we are not codependent,

But complimentary

Where all of me is accepted

Fun and dressing up with magic in the fall

Hot chocolate and our very own traditions in the winter

Discovery of new things and beginnings in the spring

Adventures and laughter in the summer

Where I let her touch all of me; mind, body, and soul

Serenade the mind and spirit first,

Then begin to bewitch the body

A love where I would want to surprise her

With a well thought out meal

Sing on car rides together and mutually cherish our time

Let me get lost in her eyes and the sound of her voice

But before all of that, a heart of gold and a spirit that is true

These things I do wish for me and you
