To Do List

a more structured rambling...

By ᔕᗩᗰ ᕼᗩᖇTYPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Today I am trying to fight off depression. I sat at my desk 2 hours not being able to write anything. This is day 2 I've not written anything substantial. Just garbage class/work-group prompts that aren't worth anything. So I made a chores to do list and it ended up inspiring more bad poetry. But I decided to post it anyway. So be forewarned I'm just writing junk lately, no great moving poems like "Ocean" or "Immortality". Maybe it's myself fighting against the goals I know I must set this coming year. I don't know. One minute I'm trying and the next minute I can't be arsed to do it. Anyway, you were warned:

M Tu W Th F Sa Su

I made a to do list, I thought it would help:

Try to shake off this terrible funk.

Remember to be grateful.

Don't be such a bratty little punk.

M Tu W Th F Sa Su

I made a to do list, To gather my thoughts:

Reach out to those that you know are friends.

Sit down and write when you can.

Remember there's a new day daily, it's never the end.

M Tu W Th F Sa Su

I made a to do list, I wrote it in ink:

Do not procrastinate.

Do all your chores.

Remember it's never as bad as you think.

M Tu W Th F Sa Su

I made a to do list, I hope I will follow:

No effort is wasted.

Remember self-care is essential

Your feelings are important, not hollow.

M Tu W Th F Sa Su

I made a to do list, I just needed to try:

Remember some people do like you.

Like yourself too.

It's OK to cry.

This was fun to read! I think list are a great tool in the writing block when we feel blocked! Crying is the best, let it out! Keep up the good work!

Very true it’s okay to cry. Also, everything you write is interesting to me.
