Wish upon a star
That your hair wasn’t tinged red
That your teeth weren’t quite so yellow
You looked pretty out of bed.
Wish that you were someone else
But whom you cannot say
Its easy to forget that no one’s you in any way.
So your hair has shades of red Kool-Aid
From back when you were twelve
Pigment scattered 'cross tan cheeks
Brown freckles that sit well.
You’ve never met another with a name that’s quite like yours
A voice of purple, yellow, indigo, and colors evermore.
Easily forgotten that an orange fades to blue
No sunset is the same just like no one is to you.
