I was

Shoddily constructed

Paper board

Glue

· · ─ ·🎸· ─ · ·

Latex strings

All separately collected

Squirreled away

In a jar

Waiting

To wrap around my

Folded torso

· · ─ ·🎸· ─ · ·

Snap them

Hear the hollow

Notes play

Twanging away

· · ─ ·🎸· ─ · ·

Two holes

One for the echo

To escape

One for my

protruding paper tube

Neck

Jammed down inside

· · ─ ·🎸· ─ · ·

Joint

Taped up for strength

Lines running

Opposite

Real instruments

Strapped up on display

· · ─ ·🎸· ─ · ·

I am a facsimile of

Instrumentality

Made by a kindergartner

Desperately

Plucking out a

Symphony

On rubber strings

While peers

Were given Fenders

To smash and play

Ohhh this is clever and raw at the same time! 👏The imagery of hollow notes and taped-up joints hits just right.
