Tipping Toes

Goodnight.

"Tipping Toes"

Soundlessly attending,

Her eyes follow your silhouette

She sees you through the window

Glancing up to the skies

She kisses you through the glass

With a quivering, silent hand

This will be her last living moment

The stone within her heart is cold, heavy

She has born the weight long enough

There is nothing left

The curtain falls into place

After taking one last longing look at the world,

The coiled serpent calls her away

She whispers her last goodbye

And the tears begin to rain down from her heartbroken eyes

The hempen halter about her,

She closes her eyes

And tips her graceful toes to the floor, dangling

Only to touch the silence

Crying out in anguish

Sleep now, evermore

Goodnight, dearest angel

Goodnight.
