Tiny Beings

Finding beauty in my babies

I open my eyes

Bright sunlight brings me

Back from subconscious thoughts

And dreams

A dark world resting on

A pillow

The smell of coffee

Such a warm start

Good morning my beauties

Bright eyes

And soft cries

Time to begin the day

All swallowed up

With the stresses of the day

I feel them melting away

As we play

Bright eyes

So small

So full of life

Take me back

To days like that

Where the world

Was beautiful

Tiny hands

Loud laughter

Tiny beings

Make me stronger

They say the small things

In life

Are most important

Little did I know

That in such a dark time

With such a dark mind

That these tiny beings

With their bright eyes

And love for life

Could bring me to see

The flowers in the field

The clouds in the sky

That coloring out of the lines

Is just as beautiful

As perfection

I find peace in play

I find hope in the day

Maybe tonight

As I rest my head

The demons won't awake

But if they do

I know all I have to do

Is look into the bright eyes

Of my tiny beings.
