Tinsel Time
A Poem on Transience
Moments of joy are temporal, but so are moments of sadness.-Michelle Liew
This is for Poppy’s Prompt #12
**************************
Twinkling lights reflect my moment’s shine,
Images temporal, that vanish in time
Non-lasting moments, precious, so brief,
Seconds of wonder that soon turn to grief
Each strand tells me, as it catches the light
Life’s brightest moments are joyful, though slight
**************************
Tousled strands of yuletide cheer
Images of warmth, that soon disappear
Not meant to stay, but bright while they last
Softly fade as the snow melts too fast
Each glint a reminder, sharp but true
Life’s fleeting joys, like my threads, are few.
