A Moment of Transport at the Senior Christmas Party

"Hey Angel, you really are a flight risk!" a strangely familiar voice chimed like a bell for the Ghost of Christmas Past, summoning her with an endearment no one had used in decades..

She turned and faced a man with the thick white hair and the large liquid brown eyes of a harp seal pup, a youthful sprite trapped in an aging body.

His lips brushed softly against the back of her gnarled hand as he kissed it, the heavy weight of decades lifting off her hunched shoulders.

She breathed in his cologne and found herself standing on her doorstep of sixty winters ago, the smell of mulled cider wafting through the air

Mixing with the salty, bitter flavor of her tears at their parting, but then, upon returning to her present day surroundings, she bit into a sugar cookie and wondered what hope tasted like.

Wow, I am blown away at how you connected the harp seal pup to the aged man, it made him sound so ravishing. The details you went into made this piece so captivating, it was a complete gem and I am so glad I came across this. It broke my heart at the bit where there was a parting, being back in the present isn’t so bad either. Sugar cookie sounds good too. This was a masterpiece, I am thoroughly entertained and satisfied with this piece.
